Introduction to Section 4 ~ Sites Devoted to Worship & Liturgy

The following selected sites offer helpful worship and liturgy resources. The collection of links emphasizes liturgy and worship materials of a practical nature in the context of contemporary scholarship and ecumenical wisdom. As well, there is a natural emphasis on Lutheran, Canadian and ecumenically accessible Revised Common Lectionary resources.

We would be grateful to hear of any sites offering liturgy and worship resources congenial to Western Rite Christianity, in general, and to the evangelical-catholic tradition of the Lutheran community, in particular. We look forward to the creation of reciprocal links. Contact Wendell Grahlman [e-mail] to suggest possible links.

Lectionaries

The emphasis here is upon the Revised Common Lectionary produced by the Consultation on Common Texts (RCL) and on its parent lectionary, the Roman Lectionary for Mass (RLM). Lectionary Central offers material related to the one-year lectionary (per Canadian 1962 BCP) which was largely supplanted by the RLM and RCL. Canadian

RCL Preaching and Related Helps

The following resources are oriented primarily toward the crafting of sermons or homilies. We do not list sites devoted exclusively to the publication of sermons. The most comprehensive resourse site for students, teachers and preachers of the Revised Common Lectionary is Jenee Woodard's The Text This Week (Jackson, MI). For sermon archives, consult Deacon Sil's Homiletic Resources (by subscription; Sil Galvan, Lakewood, NJ USA) or visit the longstanding Canadian Sermons & Lectionary Resources site (Richard J. Fairchild, Golden, BC Canada). Canadian Connection
