The following worship, liturgy and spirituality resources have been produced in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. Items may be reproduced for parish or community use. We ask only that acknowledgment be made together with mention of the Lift Up Your Hearts web site as the source.
Acts of Worship is a series of essays which appeared in the ELCIC's Canada Lutheran in 1997 and 1998. The series was written by Assistant to the Bishop Richard Stetson.
This Bidding Prayer was prepared by André Lavergne, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg, Ontario. First prayed at the Sixth Biennial Convention of the ELCIC (1997), and subsequently re-published in connection with the Devotions for a Congregational Annual Meeting (1997), this worship resource is based upon the ELCIC's Evangelical Declaration (1997).
The items contained in the following files are suitable for use in newsletters and guides-to-worship.
In 1993, following a period of study and reflection, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada adopted the Report of the Confirmation Task Force. This document was commended to ELCIC congregations for study. A number of recommendations are contained in the report.
Composed by ELCIC pastor Paul Bosch, CWA, these brief items originally
appeared in the ELCIC's Gathered for
Worship (1995). For the purposes
of publication here, the items are assembled in four files to match the four
GFW sections in which they were first published. The Crafting Worship
items make excellent study material for worship planning teams. Some can
also serve as material for parish newsletters and guides-to-worship.

Each volume of For Good Measure offers ten
60-second meditations from the pen
of ELCIC pastor Paul Bosch, CWA, written and taped originally for airing on
Kitchener, Ontario's CFCA-FM radio as part of that station's ongoing
"Meditation" series. Paul Bosch describes these meditations as proto-evangelism."
With a little bit of editing from spoken-line to paragraph format, these meditations
make excellent newsletter and guide-to-worship material.
In the course of its ministry, the ELCIC produces a variety of Occasional Rites and Resources for congregational and community use.
Now discontinued, Pneuma was, for several years, a newsletter concerned with the ministry of spiritual directors and spiritual direction in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. Individual articles may still be viewed/downloaded from this archive. Inquiries may be directed to the former editor, Clement Mehlman [e-mail].
In the course of its life, the ELCIC has produced a variety of Prayers and Intercessions generally derived from themes from the ELCIC's Revised Common Lectionary. See also US Episcopalian Ormonde Plater's excellent collection of Prayers of the People.
Edited by Clement Mehlman [e-mail] through the fall of 2000, and now discontinued, A Vision of Discipleship provided the reader with valuable insights into the ELCIC's Adult Catechumenate program.
